6 Reasons Homecoming 2018 was "Out of this World"

This past week Roadrunners were "Out of this World" with outer-space themed homecoming events. Here are six reasons why Homecoming 2018 at Dalton State College was the best yet.

1. The raging bonfire pep rally was a huge success

Students gathered around a large bonfire in one of the green spaces where Wood Valley once stood to cheer on the basketball team, hear from athletics, and socialize. The raging bonfire was a contrast to the quiet, intimate fireside chats around the residence life fire pit.

2. Rage donned a spacesuit

Rage helped raise school spirit and excitement during all the homecoming activities. Spacesuit Rage is our new favorite way to see our beloved mascot.

3. We literally looked 'Out of this World'

Homecoming was a perfect chance learn a thing or two about the cosmos from our professors and students during a "Night Under the Stars" at Dalton State's observatory.

4. We did good deeds

Roadrunners collected canned goods for the Birdfeeder, a food pantry set up for students here at Dalton State. Several students also spent a day volunteering in the community. Roadrunner Nation is all about giving back.

5. Our Roadrunners won their seventh straight game

There's no question that our basketball team is on fire right now. The Roadrunners orbited around Martin Methodist 92-66 during the annual homecoming event.

6. New royalty was crowned

Carolina Gomez was crowned Princess and Casey Mashburn was crowned Prince, while Deshawn Ruffin and Ana Mendez were crowned King and Queen. These student leaders know how to Run Boldly as part of Roadrunner Nation!
